Balances of foreign trade with goods and services are now again in surplus in CE countries (PL, CZ, HU). Foreign trade deficit has decreased also a lot in Romania since Q3 2022, but it still remains very elevated.
The improvement in foreign trade balances in the CE countries over the past quarters has been supported by decrease in commodity prices (the main driver, with the segment of energy products at the forefront), and by weakening of domestic demand.
