Investments’ performance in Romania during COVID-19 pandemic was unexpectedly strong, outpacing by a large margin those recorded by the other EU Member Countries. Gross fixed capital formation in the first three quarters of 2020 was by 4.2% above the level recorded in the similar period of 2019. Public investments increased in 2020 from 2019, while private investments showed an unexpectedly strong resilience during the current crisis.
